General Questions
What are the benefits of subscribing?
Other than simply providing the
cutting-edge in home car charging with no upfront cost, we do
more than save you money. Our service is ongoing; we’re here
to help with your EV charging needs from day one. Whether you
have questions or concerns, simply want some advice, or
something isn’t working as it should be, we’re here to help!
Who is eligible?
Our subscriptions are for electric
vehicle owners in the UK. You don’t need to own your home, but
will need to have permission to have a charger installed (for
instance, if you’re renting your home). You also need access
to off-road, private parking.
What charger will I get?
We’ll ask questions to determine which
product is best suited to your needs. Our portfolio of
innovative and effective technology products by Project EV
means you’re guaranteed a truly brilliant, market-leading home
charger.
Do I own the charge point?
Here’s the beauty of it all: as you’re
not technically the owner of the charger, you’re not
responsible for any of the maintenance! No need to worry about
repairs or replacements – that’s on us. While it’s rare, in
the event that something does go wrong, we’ll be round to fix
it within 2 days.
Is the service compatible with any electric vehicle?
Yes! We can cater to any and all
electric vehicle types and makes.
What does the app do?
The dedicated app helps you maximise
your efficiency (AKA costs) when it comes to electric
charging. You can set a schedule and choose when you’d like to
charge your vehicle (for instance, during off-peak times
only), plus track your spending and quickly contact us for
support when you need it.
Do I need to own my own home to have a charger installed?
Absolutely not however, if you don’t own
the property you live in, you will need permission from your
landlord or the relevant person in order for us to install a
charger.
The Process
What is an OZEV grant and should I apply?
The OZEV grant is a government grant
worth £350, specifically for owners of home car charging points
which they’re responsible for maintaining. As we take care of
this for you, there’s no need to apply!
How long will it take to install?
Our engineers should be onsite at your
home for no more than 4 hours to complete an installation.
They’ll make sure to test the charging point, and will leave
things neat and tidy once they’re finished.
What should I do to prepare before my installation?
Other than making sure the space around
the designated charging point is clear and easily accessible,
you can simply relax and wait for us to arrive!
How does payment work?
We’ll set up a direct debit so that you
don’t need to think about payments after the initial subscribe.
Payments will begin once your charger is installed, and we’ll
take £30 per month automatically thereafter.
How long am I signing up for?
Our subscription comes with no tie-in
commitment! Simply pay monthly for as long as you need the
charger and maintenance service. No sticky contracts here!
How do I know if my home is eligible for an electric car
charger?
Most homes are eligible for standard
installation. Don’t worry – before you sign up and any products
are installed or payments taken, we’ll be sure to ask the right
questions to confirm that your home is suitable.
What hidden charges can I expect?
There are no hidden charges! The only
additional cost you can expect at any point is a £49 fee for
removing or moving a charger in the event that you move home.
I already have a charger – can I still subscribe?
If you already have a home charging
point, no problem! We’re happy to replace an existing charger
with a market-leading product of our own at no extra cost.
Can solar power be used to charge my electric vehicle?
Absolutely – the more renewable energy
being used, the better. This is something which can be managed
via the app, which we’ll show you how to do once your new
charger has been installed.
Customer Service
Who pays for the maintenance of my charger?
Your monthly subscription of just £30 covers all costs relating
to repairs, fixes and replacements of your charger. To see

How can I get in touch for maintenance/other issues?
We’re here for you! Reach out any time
via email or using the Charger app – we’ll come back to you
ASAP (usually within 48 hours).
What happens if I move house?
No problem! If you’re moving home and
would like to take your charger with you, please let us know in
advance. There’s a small charge of £49+VAT for us to come and
remove the charger. Once you’re settled in, set up your new
subscription with us and we’ll be round to install your new
charger soon!
How and when can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime,
with 3 months’ notice. Let us know via email and we’ll arrange
a time for us to come and remove your charger. Easy peasy!
What is the £49 removal fee for?
We’re glad you asked! To be transparent,
this is just to recover some of our costs spent travelling,
using resources and manpower to come out and remove your
charger, etc. Honesty is the best policy!
